The Albertina in Vienna houses one of the most famous art collections in the world. This opulently illustrated volume presents the masterworks of the museum and its collectors, Duke Albert of Saxe-Teschenand his wife, Archduchess Maria Christina. The lively and exciting history of their collection began in the late Baroque under Maria Theresa and continued through the years of revolutionary upheaval in Europeand America up to the resurgence of conservative powers after the Congress of Vienna.
