The book is dedicated to Armando Testa (1917-1992), creative genius, protagonist of contemporary visual culture and creator of famous icons now belonging to our collective imagination. Starting from the 17 works that entered the collections of Ca’ Pesaro Museum thanks to Gemma De Angelis Testa’s donation, the catalogue dedicates ample space to advertising campaigns and logos for important companies, as well as TV animations in the 1950s and 1960s, with innovative techniques and characters entering the history of advertising and international culture. Furthermore, the book does not forget the activity linked to social issues, such as the campaigns for Amnesty International, for the referendum on divorce, against poverty and hunger in the world, just to name a few. The works within the catalogue bring about an overall look on the lesson of Armando Testa and his artistic production, paying particular attention to his happy intuitions as a painter, sculptor, designer, and creator of endless suggestions magically condensed into an unexpected synthesis.
